The Milagro School of Herbal Medicine is offering an online distance herbal program designed to teach the foundational principles of herbal medicine, medicine making, botany, and ethical wildcrafting. We emphasize the seasons throughout the course and there are four areas of study: Botany, Medicine-Making, Materia Medica, and Herbal Therapeutics. This course also covers most of the body systems, and you will be given assignments to create remedies in your kitchen using various herbs and methods. In this program, you will learn herbal medicine from your home or office over a 12 month period. This is a self-paced curriculum that is divided into trimesters. The online course averages about 3 hours of time per week, but because you are managing your own schedule, you can shape your weekly time commitment to what works best for you, and to accommodate trips, breaks, etc. The online program incorporates many audios, powerpoint presentations, and videos so that you will get a more personal feel while doing the course from a distance. You will be evaluated by an assigned teacher to guide you through your studies. You will have some assignments and tests to turn in during the 12-month period.
