Herbal First Aid Class (June 29 & 30, 2018)
In this class we will explore how to use herbs and herbal preparations for first aid. This class will have a dual focus of which herbs to carry in a kit, for a day hike or extended backcountry trip, and how to identify and use plants in the field. During the evening indoor classroom session we will focus on herbs for the first aid kit as well as touch upon: foundations of herbal medicine, herbal approach to wound care, trauma, environmental injuries, digestion, immune response, acute stress response, hydration, pain and more. The following day we head out into the field to discover natures medicine cabinet, both in an herbal first aid kit and in the field.
The class consists of two parts:
-June 29 classroom session 6-8:00 pm at Milagro
-June 30 plants and their practical applications in the field.
